CT-03: Toraja Tour
(05 days / 04 nights)
Day 01 |
Upon arrival at Hasanuddin
Airport Makassar, meeting services. Afterwards,
set out on the picturesque drive to Toraja. Lunch
at a seafood restaurant in Pare-Pare, precedes a
scenic drive with many photo-stops en route. In
the afternoon, we will have a coffee-break on the
Puncak Lakawan. Dinner and overnight in hotel. |
Day 02 |
After breakfast, a full
day exploring Toraja. First visit Lemo to
see rows of Tau Tau statues and hanging graves.
Suaya the cliff graves then Londa,
to see an ancient grave where the deceased are entombed.
At Kete Kesu we can see Tongkonan, old rice
barns, and traditional woodcarving. Lunch will be
served in Rantepao. Dinner and overnight in hotel. |
Day 03 |
After breakfast, another
full day discovery tour of Toraja, this time visiting
Pallawa, Sa'dan, the weaving center
as well as Marante and Nanggala, traditional
Torajan villages renowned for their large Tongkonans
and rice barns. Lunch in Rantepao. Dinner and overnight
in hotel. |
Day 04 |
After breakfast, we
set out on a full day trip to Batutumonga,
enjoying superb views over Rantepao and surrounding
valleys. Lunch will be served in local restaurant.
Dinner and overnight in hotel. |
Day 05 |
After breakfast, transfer
back to Makassar. Lunch in Pare-Pare, afterwards
transfer directly to Hasanuddin Airport Makassar
to catch the flight for your next destination. |
CT-04: Toraja
incl. Mamasa (07 Days / 06 Nights)
Day 01 |
Upon arrival at Hasanuddin
Airport in Makassar meeting services. Afterwards,
direct transfer to hotel. Dinner and overnight
in hotel. |
Day 02 |
After an early breakfast
we set out on the scenic drive to Mamasa, passing
through Buginese villages with their typical houses.
Lunch in Polewali, a small Bugis port town.
Mamasa is a cool mountain resort, with
numerous hot springs nearby. There are interesting
walks among the rolling hills, rice terraces and
villages. Dinner and overnight in hotel. |
Day 03 |
After breakfast, take
a full day excursion around Mamasa. We
visit the traditional house Rante Buda,
Kampong Tawalian, Osanga Village,
the tombs from Tedong-Tedong Minanga and
the weaving center of Rantesapu Bala. Dinner
and overnight in hotel. |
Day 04 |
After breakfast, on
to Toraja, with lunch in Polewali.
We will have a coffee-break at the Puncak Lakawang
with its gorgeous mountain views. Arrive at Rantepao
late in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in
hotel. |
Day 05 |
After breakfast, a
full day excursion in Toraja, visiting
Suaya cliff graves, then Londa and
Kete-Kesu, where we will see traditional
Tongkonan houses and rice barns. Lunch in Rantepao.
Dinner and overnight in hotel. |
Day 06 |
After breakfast, another
full day Toraja excursion,visiting Marante,
Nanggala, and Palawa, to see fine
examples of Torajan architecture. At Sadan,
women demonstrate traditional weaving. Lunch en
route. Dinner and overnight in hotel. |
Day 07 |
After breakfast, return
to Makassar, lunch en route at a seafood
restaurant in Pare Pare. Afterwards, directly
drive to Hasanuddin Airport for your flight
to your next destination. |
CT-08: Trans
- Sulawesi (19 days / 18 nights)
Day 01 |
Upon arrival at Hasanuddin
Airport Makassar, transfer to your hotel.
Dinner and overnight in hotel. |
Day 02 |
After breakfast, transfer
to Bira. On the way we visit Tana Beru
to see Buginese Pinisi boat-building. Accommodation
and dinner in Bira. |
Day 03 |
After breakfast we
set out in the direction of Watampone,
visit the Museum of Andi Mappasisi and
listen to stories of the former Bugis royal families.
Lunch, dinner and overnight in Watampone. |
Day 04 |
After breakfast continue
the journey to Sengkang, pausing in the
afternoon to catch a beautiful view of the sunset
over Lake Tempe. Today's tour will include
a visit to a traditional silk factory.
Lunch and a "selamat" dinner
in our hotel. |
Day 05 |
After breakfast we
start the picturesque drive to Mamasa,
lunch in Polewali, a small Buginese harbour.
In the afternoon a coffee break on the Puncak,
and a scenic drive through tropical forests. Dinner
and a cultural performances at our hotel in Mamasa. |
Day 06 |
After breakfast, a
full day excursion around Mamasa. We will visit
Rante Buda, Kampong Tawalian, and
the village of Osanga. Also stopping at
the weaving center in Rantesapu Bala for
a picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight in hotel. |
Day 07 |
After breakfast, transfer
to Toraja. Lunch en route at Polewali.
An afternoon coffee break on the Puncak Lakwan
taking in the panorama view. Arrival late afteernoon
in Toraja. Dinner and overnight in hotel in Rantepao. |
Day 08 |
After breakfast, we
set out on a full day excursion discovering Toraja.
We will visit Suaya, Londa, Lemo,
Kete-Kesu and Nanggala. Lunch in
Rantepao, dinner and overnight in hotel. |
Day 09 |
After breakfast, departure
for Pendolo, a small village on the south
shore of Lake Poso. A picnic lunch at the irrigation
project nearby Palopo. Dinner and overnight
in hotel. |
Day 10 |
After breakfast, we
ferry across the crystal clear water of Lake
Poso to Tentena for lunch, and a visit
to Wera Salopa, a spectacular multi-stepped
waterfall. Dinner and overnight in cottages. |
Day 11 |
After breakfast, we
visit the Pamona caves. Lunch in hotel,
free program for the afternoon. Barbeque dinner
in the evening and overnight in cottages. |
Day 12 |
After breakfast, on
the way to Palu we visit the Sulewana
Waterfall, a set of steep rapids one kliometre
long. Lunch in Poso, arrival late afternon
in Palu. |
Day 13 |
After breakfast, a
full day tour to Donggala, with the first
stop at Kampong Lere to see the traditional
house of Joyo Kodi, the former king
of the Kaili People. This is will be followed
by a walk through a fishing village and lunch
on a sandy beach nearby Donggala. After lunch
we take you on a city tour of Donggala in a horse-drawn
Bendi. Back to Palu for dinner and overnight. |
Day 14 |
After beakfast, we
set out to Gorontalo, pausing in several
villages to see local life. Arrival late in the
aftenoon in Gorontalo, where Dutch architecture
is still in evidence. Dinner and overnight in
Gorontalo. Today we have crossed the equator. |
Day 15 |
After breakfast, we
set out towards Manado, the capital city
of North Sulawesi. Lunch en route. We pass
picturesque villages, white sandy beaches, coconut
and clove plantations, arriving in Manado by late
afternoon. Dinner and overnight in hotel. |
Day 16 |
After breakfast, we
cruise by motorized canoe to the island of Bunaken
to dive in one of the worls' most beautiful
sea gardens. Tour includes snorkel and fins,
and lunch on a white sandy beach near Bunaken.

Day 17 |
After breakfast, we
start with a city tour of Manado followed by a
drive on up to the Minahasa Highlands.
We will visit Tomohon, a town situated
between two active volcanoes, and see Japanese
caves, built during the Second World War.
Dinner and overnight in Sonder. This village
is located about 355 km outside Manado and enjoys
a cooler climate. |
Day 18 |
Free program for one
day. Lunch, dinner and overnight in Sonder. |
Day 19 |
After breakfast, transfer
to Sam Ratulangi Airport. Departure for your next
destination. |
CT-14: South Sulawesi Round Trip
(07 Days / 06 Nights)
Day 01 |
After breakfast, set
out for a scenic drive to Tanjung Bira.
On the way we will visit Bissappu waterfall
in Bantaeng. Lunch en route. The Buginese and
Makassarese are the most skillful boat builders
and sailors in Indonesia. At Tana Beru you can
see traditional Perahu boat construction.
Dinner and overnight at simple accommodation. |
Day 02 |
After breakfast, transfer
to Sengkang, located in the center of the Former
Buginese Kingdom. In Watampone we will visit the
museum of Andi Mapasissi to see his collection
from the former Bugis Royalties. Lunch en route.
In the afternoon we will try to catch the beautiful
views of the sunset over the Lake Tempe.
We will cross the lake by motorized canoe
and we will visit the fisherman families who do
live on the floating villages. Overnight
at guesthouse in Sengkang.
NOTE: Lake Tempe is Shallow lake by NO rain
for a long Time, it will be dry and we can Not
cross the lake. |
Day 03 |
After breakfast, we
will visit a traditional silk factory,
where women handspin and weave silk cloth; then
transfer to Tana Toraja via Palopo, a small
Muslim harbor port. Lunch enroute. The road from
Palopo to Toraja gives us spectacular views.
In the afternoon arrival in Rantepao. Dinner
and overnight at Hotel. |
Day 04 |
After breakfast, a
full day exploring Toraja. First we will
visit Lemo to see rows of Tau Tau statues
and the hanging graves. Onwards to Suaya
to discover the secret of the Baby Tree,
Also visiting today Londa, to see an ancient
grave where the deceased are entombed. At
Kete Kesu one of the oldest Torajan villages we
can see Tongkonan and old rice barns,
also famous for its traditional colorful woodcarving.

Day 05 |
After breakfast we
set out on a trip to Batutumonga enjoying superb
views over Rantepao and surrounding valleys.
Ideal for a walk along the rice fields
to witness daily Torajan life. Lunch will be served
at a local restaurant. Afternoon also visiting
Pallawa, Sa'dan, known as the weaving center
of Rantepao. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel. |
Day 06 |
After breakfast, transfer
back to Makassar. A coffee-stop at Puncak Lakawan
will be made to enjoy the spectacular view. Lunch
will be served at a seafood restaurant
in Pare-Pare. Afterwards transfer directly to
Hotel in Makassar for dinner and overnight. |
Day 07 |
After breakfast, we
will make a half day city tour of Makassar,
visiting the Old Dutch Fortress Rotterdam and
Paotere Anchorage, the Buginese boat harbor.
Onwards transfer directly to Hasanuddin Airport
Makassar to catch your flight to your next destination. |
